Anahita Mauritius moved to the rhythm of its first trail run, the “Anahita Trail Run,” on 16 March 2024. More than 525 enthusiastic runners converged for this exceptional event, marking the 15th anniversary of the Anahita Golf & Spa Resort. It was a memorable experience set against the spectacular backdrop and authentic allure of Mauritius’ eastern landscapes.
An event in perfect harmony with the spirit of Anahita
The kickoff took place amidst the historic setting of the old Beau Champ factory. From the palm-lined pathways at the heart of the smart city to the stunning views over the Grande Rivière Sud Est, not to mention the hidden gems of the eastern region, the exceptional beauty of the landscapes and our village captivated all participants. For Dhiren Pereira, Chief Operating Officer for Alteo’s hospitality and leisure division, the Anahita Trail Run was a resounding success, reflecting tremendous enthusiasm for its first edition. “Witnessing the enthusiasm and determination of the 525 participants was inspiring. The unique charm of Anahita Beau Champ undoubtedly contributed to this success. We are grateful to every runner, volunteer, partner, and team member who played a role in the success of this event, as well as our sponsors such as the RM Club, Anahita Residences and Villas, Anahita Golf, and City Sport,” he added.
An adventure for all
The programme featured two exceptional tracks: a 5 km circuit open to participants from 6 years of age and a 15 km trail designed for the more seasoned runners. Participants were divided into various age categories: Grand Master (60 years and above), Master (50-59 years), Veteran (40-49 years), Senior (20-39 years), and Junior (14-19 years), along with a Kids category (6-12 years), giving younger participants a taste of the joys of trail running. Sabrina Rabot and Ryan Lenferna excelled in the 15 km race.
Ryan Lenferna shares his experience: “The inaugural Anahita Trail was a beautiful event. For me, the organisers nailed it in every aspect: the course, the atmosphere, the prizes. Two days before the race, a friend convinced me to join him, and I’m glad I accepted. The course was fast and relatively non-technical, but the heavy morning rain made the terrain extremely wet and muddy, adding an interesting twist to the race. The race village was fantastic; I think all the runners received the warmest welcome at the finish line. I’ll definitely be back next year for another go!”
Meanwhile, Sabrina Rabot reflects: “Taking part in the Anahita Trail Run was a rewarding experience. The course was enjoyable, the terrain varied, and the organisation was flawless. Anahita is on the right track. I highly recommend everyone to participate. I want to dedicate this victory to Anaïs Nicolini and her family, as well as my sponsors. I’m looking forward to next year’s event!”
