As dawn broke over the East coast on Saturday 23 May 2026, Domaine de Beau Rivage welcomed close to 1,000 participants and supporters for the third edition of the Anahita Trail. Nestled along the coastline between Trou d’Eau Douce and Beau Champ, the estate provided a picturesque setting for a morning of sport, nature and solidarity.
Long before the starting horn sounded, runners gathered beneath the shade of the estate’s majestic banyan trees, with the calm waters of the lagoon nearby and the first rays of sunlight gradually illuminating the landscape. The cool temperatures and clear skies created ideal running conditions, while the fresh breeze typical of the East at this time of year accompanied participants throughout the morning.
Organised by Anahita, with the support of Alteo, the event brought together trail enthusiasts, families, first-time runners and employees from both companies, all united by a shared passion for the outdoors and community engagement.
A Growing Sporting Rendezvous in the East
Since its launch in 2024, the Anahita Trail has quickly become a popular fixture among runners looking to combine physical activity with the discovery of Mauritius’ eastern landscapes. It offers an opportunity to experience the region from a different perspective, away from the main roads and through areas that are not always accessible to the public.
Outstanding Performances Across Both Distances
Participants had the choice between two distances, each designed to showcase a different side of the region.
The 5km Family Fun Run provided an accessible route within Domaine de Beau Rivage, allowing participants of all ages to enjoy a relaxed yet rewarding experience through open green spaces and tree-lined paths. Along the way, runners were treated to glimpses of the estate’s natural surroundings while families and supporters gathered to encourage them towards the finish line.
Those taking on the 15km course ventured deeper into the landscapes of the East. The route led runners through stretches of sugarcane fields, along sections bordering the Grand River South East and through the vibrant surroundings of Beau Champ. The changing scenery offered a constantly evolving backdrop, alternating between wide-open views, shaded passages and riverside sections. Recent rainfall in the days leading up to the event had left some parts of the terrain slightly damp, adding a touch of difficulty to an otherwise fast and enjoyable course.
Among the standout performances of the day, Camille Huguet and Cillver Durhone claimed victory in the overall 5km ranking respectively, while Sabrina Rabot Keisler and Hanooveer Singh Boodhoa secured first place 15km races.
Running with Purpose
Beyond the sporting achievement, the Anahita Trail continues to place community impact at the heart of the event.
This year, Rs 100,000 will be donated to the Flacq Disabled Centre, supporting its efforts to foster greater autonomy, inclusion and opportunities for individuals living with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Reflecting on the success of the event, Fabien de Marassé Enouf, Chief Executive Officer of Alteo, commented:
“Welcoming close to 1,000 participants for this third edition is a tremendous source of pride for the entire Alteo team. We are especially pleased to see the Anahita Trail continue to highlight the beauty of the East while creating a positive impact within our communities.”

A Celebration of Sport, Nature and Togetherness
While the races were at the heart of the day, the atmosphere extended well beyond the finish line. As the morning progressed and the sun climbed higher, participants and supporters gathered around the race village, enjoying the vibrant community spirit that has become a hallmark of the event.
Children made the most of the lively kids’ corner, packed with interactive games and activities, while runners shared stories from the course beneath the shade of the century-old trees of Domaine de Beau Rivage. The combination of sport, nature and togetherness created an atmosphere that was both energetic and welcoming.
A heartfelt thank you goes to every runner, volunteer, partner, staff member and supporter who contributed to making this third edition such a memorable success.
As the Anahita Trail continues to grow, it remains a celebration of the East in all its richness – from its landscapes and communities to the shared experiences that bring people together year after year. We look forward to welcoming you back to the starting line in 2027.
